An existing bank is located in the building facing Piazza della Repubblica in Florence, Italy. We were given the task of transforming this building into a minimalistic boutique hotel, while preserving the essence of Florence. For inspiration, I drew from the narrow streets of the city that lead to expansive piazzas. These streets, with their limited natural light, pavement reflections, and light coming only from the open sky above the tall buildings, inspired me to recreate this ambiance in the boutique hotel. I achieved this effect with black walls and white ceilings. For the rooms, I selected a color palette that reflects Florentine aesthetics, including olive green and Tuscan orange.
