NASCOSTO

The Loggia Rucellai, an Italian Renaissance loggia built by Giovanni di Paolo Rucellai in the 1460s for his son Bernardo, who was marrying Nannina de' Medici (daughter of Cosimo), was originally intended as a place for celebrations. It is now used as a shop. This location is the site of the project: a sculpture museum. My design concept is based on ACTION = REACTION (equal and opposite), employing a symmetrical grid to distribute the spaces. I named it "Nascosto," which means "Hidden" in Italian, because I wanted to preserve a sense of mystery about what’s inside the museum. At first glance, only shadows are visible, and the design invites exploration to discover what lies within.
